Joseph is a Senior Associate in our employment, workplace relations and safety team. Joseph also has extensive criminal law experience after working as a federal prosecutor for the Commonwealth DPP and lawyer for the WA Police Force.
Joseph recently spent several years at the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, where he managed a complex and high profile WorkSafe prosecutions, including regularly appearing as counsel on proceedings arising from serious or fatal workplace incidents.
Joseph has significant experience appearing in the Work Health and Safety Tribunal (previously OSH Tribunal) in relation to the review of administrative decisions including licensing matters and challenges to improvement and prohibition notices.
Joseph has delivered training on the implementation of the WHS Act and the practical implications the new legislation will have on workplaces throughout Western Australia.
Joseph also assists out health law team acting as counsel in vocational regulation matters in the State Administrative Tribunal.
Joseph was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2015 and has practised since then in both Victoria and Western Australia.
