Steve is a Senior Associate in our Health Law team, and specialises in disciplinary matters against medical practitioners, as well as Medicare compliance audits and Practitioner Review Program/Professional Services Review matters under the Health Insurance Act 1973.
Prior to joining Panetta McGrath, for more than a decade Steve worked for both national and boutique firms almost exclusively with a defendant insurance focus and primarily professional indemnity matters, including disciplinary and civil matters against medical and other health practitioners. For six years he was also a Senior Lawyer/Acting Manager of Litigation at the regulatory body for the legal profession in WA and regularly appeared as counsel in the State Administrative Tribunal, the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal.
Steve was admitted to practice in WA in 2004 after graduating in law from the Australian National University in 1997, working as an Associate to an ACT Supreme Court judge and then as a lawyer for a personal injury/criminal firm in Canberra.
