The updated Information Sheet complements the Code of Practice: Construction Work and provides very useful guidance to PCBU’s on the function, content and application of SWMS, including outlining information around:
- the common High Risk activities for which a SWMS is required before work commences;
- who is responsible for preparing a SWMS;
- the role of the ‘principal contractor’;
- what information must be included in a SWMS; and
- recommended steps for developing and using a SWMS.
The Information Sheet also provides a helpful template SWMS that can be adapted to your business (Appendix 2).
